What is a Social Enterprise?
According to Social Traders, a Social Enterprise is an innovative breed of businesses that exist to create a fairer and more sustainable world. Social Enterprises are businesses like any other, but they exist to make the world better. That could be creating jobs for the most marginalised, providing services or protecting the environment.
Social Enterprises must be able to do three things:
- Have a defined primary social, cultural or environmental purpose consistent with a public or community benefit, and
- Derive a substantial portion of their income from trade, and
- Invest efforts and resources into their purpose such that public/community benefit outweighs private benefit.
As a Social Enterprise, we aim to be game changers in the security industry, combining our passion for security and protection with our desire for better, more inclusive growth for all.
What is the Social Traders Certification?
To reiterate our pledge to inclusion and creating a positive impact, we have undergone the rigorous assessment needed to obtain the Social Traders Certification. Social Traders assessed our viable business operation and impact model based on the FASES(Finding Australia’s Social Enterprise Sector 2016) definition of a Social Enterprise.
The Social Traders Certification ensures that we have met their standards and qualifications of
- Have a defined primary social, cultural or environmental purpose consistent with a public or community benefit, and
- Derive a substantial portion of their income from trade, and
- Invest efforts and resources into their purpose such that public/community benefit outweighs private benefit.
A Social Traders certification also ensures that Eagle Eye Guards have access to Social Traders as an intermediary dedicated to connecting businesses and governments with Social Enterprises. They use their unrivalled sector intelligence to disrupt business as usual and make buying from Social Enterprises the norm. In addition, the Social Traders Certification gives customers peace of mind knowing that a Social Enterprise has been independently audited and verified by a trustworthy body.
Our Work with IMAAP
Eagle Eye Guards & Services works closely with the at-risk African-Australian youth in the suburbs of Melbourne through IMAAP.
Our partnership with IMAAP allows us to positively contribute towards bettering these youths’ well-being and mental health through various enrichment projects, workshops, and programs such as excursions, sports, self-development modules, and mental health programs.
We are proud to be agents of positive change and community growth through our work with IMAAP, where we can help at-risk and underprivileged youth develop the necessary skills to thrive and gear towards success.
